Vintage Notes
The 2009 vintage was ideal and remarkably mild but early rains in October led to a complex harvest. After a relatively dry winter, spring temperatures remained brisk and fruit development, from budbreak through berry set, progressed slowly with yields appearing to be just above average. Due to the cooler Monterey growing season, the harvest began in earnest by early September, two weeks later than nearby regions. After a week of heavy rains in the late October, the yield was reduced, but still remained within the average range. Fruit quality was high, resulting in beautifully balanced fruit with vibrant acidity and concentrated flavor.
